Ordinary citizens might assume that the “Best Practices” urged by educational researchers are practices that have been proven effective in producing the educational outcomes sought by the public–but they would be wrong. Best Practices are ones that are deemed best suited to the aims of educational theorists and idealists, and are often at odds with the aims of the consuming public.
