Andersonville Elementary
School Motto: “I am AMAZING! Today I will be respectful, responsible and ready to learn. I will do nothing less than my best!”
Andersonville Elementary School’s mission is to guide, reach and support all students to achieve their personal best. We consider these our three pillars of success. At AES we have been astonished at how well these three pillars have fit into the programs we offer as well as those we hope to implement in helping us maintain our vision, mission, and school goals. For the pillar of guiding we have identified and implemented programs such as breakfast buddies, after school tutoring, school wide behavior incentive programs, and daily assemblies that remind each student to put forth nothing less than their best. We see our pillar of reaching as extending our vision to our community. We have broadened our horizons with parent trainings, community events, our partnership with the local church, and starting a Tiger Talk newsletter to communicate the positive things going on in our school. The pillar of support was another area of strength for our school community. We offer afterschool tutoring programs, a daily enrichment block, additional academic support, and various programs to help our families in need.
In addition to the programs and services we offer our students, Anderson County School System has recently implemented the use of Professional Learning Communities. These PLC’s provide a weekly time for our staff to meet together to review our school data, goals, and plan for the next steps in instruction.
None of our success would be possible without the dedication of our entire school staff! At Andersonville, every employee plays an important role in ensuring that our school and students are successful. This includes everyone from the school custodians who keep our school clean and help monitor in the cafeteria, the food service staff who start serving breakfast early so that children can attend morning tutoring, the educational assistants who support our teachers and work with students, the school secretary who bridges the connections between students, staff, parents and the community, and the central office staff who allows us to departmentalize and support a flexible schedule. Additionally, the teachers at Andersonville are both professionally and personally committed to the success of each and every student. They are 100% committed to not only the students but to one another. Our staff at AES is not only a working team but a family who cares for one another.
